The roundwood market in Tyrol is stagnating. While harvesting in North Tyrol is almost impossible, many areas in East Tyrol are free of snow. This has consequences over the prices. The price difference between the North and East Tyrol persists

In December, the Forest Directorate of Tyrol reported another price decrease for the main spruce range (quality BC). Again, there is a clear price difference between North and East Tyrol. For the full year, the Tyrolean roundwood prices trended downwards for the first three quarters with a small recovery in the fourth quarter.

The Forest Directorate of Tyrol reported for September a slight decrease in roundwood prices. For the main spruce range (BC 2a +), the average price has declined by just over 2 percent. Among other things, the decline is evidently due to lower harvested volumes in East Tyrol, where the price level is slightly higher than in the rest of Tyrol.
