On December 4th, the Bavarian state forest administration organised in Arnstein the second auction for high-value beech logs of the current season. Logs with a volume of 1,503 m3 (compared to 1,075 m3 the previous year) from five north-Bavarian forest enterprises were offered for sale. Bids were submitted by nineteen companies - ten veneer producers, eight sawmills and one roundwood trader.
With the exception of one company, all bidders obtained logs. A volume of 155 m3 (10% of the total) could not be sold due to low bids. The average bid was for 199 €/m3. This time, the most expensive log originated from Bad Königshofen, obtaining the price of 469 €/m3.
